An IP based Access Control or CCTV system can quite happily sit on a well designed Ethernet network without any interference to the other services running on the same infrastructure. By utilising the existing network there is no need to install dedicated coaxial CCTV cables or RS485 Access Control networks, both systems will seamlessly integrate with the minimum of onsite disruption.
The most significant aspect of utilising the existing network is the time and therefore money saved on the installation of the wiring. New cameras and readers are simply plugged in to the nearest network point. Another major advantage of an IP based system against conventional systems is the ability to communicate remotely over the Internet. Users of the system can easily connect to the system and view information over a standard telephone link.

Surveillance over IP enables images from remote CCTV style cameras to be transmitted over the client's Ethernet network. These are saved on a video server to be viewed in real time or replayed from any PC connected to the network. The integration of alarm monitoring and access control with video surveillance encourages the effective use of security personnel. They are able to react to alarms, viewing the events as they occur, instead of having to constantly monitor camera activity. Capture images from remote cameras over the network for display in real time. Record image for transfer across the network or viewing using a standard Web Browser. Replay images of past events and alarms and archive them for future reference
